Elephants, hippos, giraffe, buffalo and other plains animals are present at Manyara. You'll also see the famous jungle where early Tarzan movies were filmed. Birdlife in Manyara is also very impressive. Picnic lunch in the park and overnight at Kirarumu Camp, a tented camp overlooking the great Rift Valley -  Kirurumu Tented Camp -  Full board basis

Day 5 - After breakfast, we proceed to Karatu where we'll overnight at Eileens tree INN. Here we can visit a school. Drive out to visit the Hadza tribe at Lake Eyasi and walk/hike in the general area.

" The Lake Eyasi "

Lake Eyasi is highly recommended for “ PURE CULTURAL SAFARIS” . Lake Eyasi is a soda lake located at the southwest corner of Ngorongoro Crater in the conservation area highlands. The lake is around 1050 km2 (400 square miles) and is 1040 m (3400 feet) above sea level. The main tributary is the Sibiti River and the secondary tributary is the Baray River. The Baray River has now become one of the primary onion growing regions for Tanzania and East Africa.

Other trees in this area include the umbrella thorn acacia and sand paper bush. The weather is nearly always very hot and intense, as the lake is located in floor of the Rift Valley, the oldest rift in the world. The rift is thought to have opened over 65 million years ago, shortly after dinosaurs became extinct.

Lake Eyasi’s water levels vary greatly between the rainy and dry seasons. During the dry season the lake is virtually nonexHaistent and animals are forced to share what water is left, which makes for easier wildlife viewing. The lake can get quite deep during the rainy season and it attracts hippos that like to cool off in its brackish waters . “ Including the Arusha National Park , Bird lovers will be in paradise here as well “ , as the lake attracts vast numbers of birds of all sizes and colors. Some main birds to be found here include: Africa spoonbill, flamingos, gray headed gulls, great white pelicans, pied avocet and yellow-billed storks. The main fish found in the lake are catfish and lungfish.

"FULL DAY TOUR AT LAKE EYASI"
The Hadzabe bushmen live in this region, as do the Datoga and Mbulu tribes. A visit with the bushmen is worthwhile and they will graciously show you where and how they live and hunt. They subsist entirely off the bush and by bow hunting. Everything they use is made from local materials, including their bows which are strung with giraffe tendon and their arrows which are coated in lethal poison. Their language resembles that of Kalahari bushmen tribe (who were featured in the 1980 film ‘The Gods Must Be Crazy’) with clicking noises used.

The Datoga and Mbulu people are pastoralists, like the Masai people.

The scenery of Lake Eyasi differs dramatically to that of the surrounding areas. Compared to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Highlands this area seems downright tropical. Palm trees border the lake and make homes for birds such as Fischer’s lovebird. In this day you will have to leave the the lodge at arround 05:00 or before that , ( you will be breafed on this by your local guide right there . You will have a special guide for this walk , he who speaks hadzabe language . You will spend about four or five hours hunting with the bushmen , and later on you will visit other tribes .  Meals and Overnight at either Kisimangeda tented lodge / Or  Tindiga / or any other similar lodge depending on the availability .  Full board basis

Days 6 & 7 - " NGORONGORO CRATER TOUR "

"Ngorongoro crater "

The Ngorongoro Crater is a  wonderful place – as  you descend more than 2000 feet on steep tracks cut into the crater wall to reach the open plains of the Crater floor;  this is the eighth wonders of the world.
The Ngorongoro Crater is undoubtedly the best place in Tanzania to view black rhino as well as large prides of lion that include magnificent black-manned males. It is also home to huge herds of wildebeest and zebra and many other plains game. An alkaline lake in the floor of the Crater provides a habitat for colorful flamingo and a variety of other water birds. Massive bull elephants feed in the swamps, some adorned with enormous tusks. We will have our  lunch at the hippo pool and later in the afternoon drive to the lodge for overnight.  Meals and Overnight at NGORONGORO WILDLIFE LODGE Or Similar   – Full board basis ( FB )

Day 8 - 12 –  SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we drive to Serengeti National Park, stopping at Olduvai Gorge along the route. This is where the Leakey's discovered the remains of Homo Erectus, bringing crucial understanding to the study of the evolution of man. Serengeti is the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, where the great migration begins and ends. Numbers of up to 1.5 million wildebeest and zebra inhabit the area. We may stay in two different areas within the Serengeti. This is also the perfect opportunity to take the dawn hot air balloon ride over the plains, followed by a full English-style breakfast served on fine china in the bush. – Meals and night at Serengeti serena safari lodge - FULL BOARD BASIS .

Day 13 - After breakfast we'll drive to Seronera Airstrip for our scheduled morning flight to Arusha.
